DC Skater Nyjah Huston Wins Best Male Actions Sports Athlete at the 2014 ESPYS
DC Shoes pro skater Nyjah Huston has just won his second consecutive ESPY Award for Best Male Action Sports Athlete. This win solidifies Huston as a top Action Sports competitor and comes in the middle of his skateboarding season.
An ESPY Award (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award) is a tribute presented by ESPN to acknowledge individual and team athletic accomplishments and other sports-related performances.
“I’m so stoked to have won the ESPY again this year!” said Nyjah Huston. “It feels awesome to be recognized at an event this big. I really couldn’t have done it without all the fans, everyone that voted, and the support of my sponsors. Thanks so much!”
Always pushing the limits as a street skater, Huston got into the sport at the young age of 5 and bursted into the scene when he was 9. Since then, Huston has been unstoppable with his achievements, having won coveted titles year after year – the Tampa Am when he was 10 and when he became the youngest X Games competitor when he was 11 where he continues to dominate. In one of Huston’s most successful years yet, he has already been crowned champion of two Street League events, X Games Austin and the Tampa Pro.
On top of being an incredibly successful skateboarder, Huston has been dedicated to launching his latest pro model shoe, the Nyjah Vulc, which he can be seen wearing at the ESPYS. The collection will be release in the Philippines on August.
