About more than a week ago, Golden Globe-winning actor Darren Criss was spotted hanging out in Manila with Pinoy fashion designer, Francis Libiran, but did not say exactly why he was here.
Now, Criss has finally revealed what he did during his stay in Manila.
I took a trip to the Philippines, a country close to my heart, with @GlblCtzn to learn about Manila’s waste & sustainability challenges. Iโm urging mayors to implement zero waste programs in partnership with their communities. Join me & take action. https://t.co/Tvl11UdsBu pic.twitter.com/IWd8yrMH4y

In a tweet he posted last April 11, Criss shared that he visited the country in partnership with the Global Citizen movement to learn about Manila’s waste management issues. He also called on the local mayors to take part in actively addressing this problem and to join the Zero Waste movement.
He included a link in his tweet to a petition on the Global Citizen websiteย titled “Urge Philippine Mayors to Implement a Zero Waste Program in Their Cities” with signatories from all around the world.
