Following several months of breakup rumors, it’s confirmed that Cherry Pie Picache and Edu Manzano have broken up. In a press conference for her upcoming movieย Fireflyย on December 19, Picache talked about her relationship status with Manzano.ย
“Di ba sa edad kong ito ngayon [In my age], I cannot depend my happiness anymore on somebody else, di ba? [Right?] Besides, dapat din ay buo ako or whatever or kumpleto ako kung magmamahal ako ulit [Besides, I should be whole and complete if I’ll love again],” she expressed.
Without disclosing further details about their split, the actress emphasized that they’re good friends and will always love each other.
“We are very good friends. He is a very good person. We are very good friends. You know, we will always love each other, so yun. I think we are okay naman [so far]. I think we will always love each other and yun nga [that’s it] we are friends, we are good friends.”
She also underscored that she’s still open to finding new love, “Bat hindi, di ba? Pero habang wala, eh di masaya ka sa sa sarili mo. Lalo na after nung pandemic hindi ba yung self love, hindi mo na pwedeng iasa yung kaligayahan mo o kabuluhan mo sa ibang tao, nasa sa iyo [Why not, right? But for the meantime, be happy for yourself. Especially during the pandemic, it’s self love, you can’t depend your happiness and worth on other people, it’s on you].”
The 53-year-old added, “So ngayon may partner o wala, okay lang, hindi ba? [So, now, whether I have a partner or not, it’s okay, right?] Let’s be grateful for everyday.”
When asked about her process of moving on, she admitted that it was never easy.ย

Picache and Manzano previously dated 20 years ago and rekindled their romance in 2020 after working together in the drama series Marry Me, Marry You. Earlier this year, they were surrounded by breakup rumors.ย
Manzano, on the other hand, has yet to speak up about the matter.
