On July 7, the celebrity chef and social media personality took to Facebook to detail the incident. He said a group of four had lunch at one of his restaurants, describing them as a “fuzzy bunch” from the beginning.

“They made an issue out of everything: house music, the gender-neutral CR, the service, the food, the drinks,” he noted.

Chef Tatung emphasized that they always try their best to accommodate all diners’ requests as long as they’re reasonable. However, he revealed that the diners “verbally attacked” their staff.

“But they verbally attacked our staff. They dragged my name into the conversation (kilala daw nila ako [they said they know me]) and said not-so-nice things for other guests to hear. Really sad.”

He continued, “Then walk out without paying. Every now and then, we encounter these types of people.”

In the comments section, he added that they have their names and the CCTV footage. But he reiterated that it wasn’t the point.

“Kakalungkot lang need pa mang bastos [It’s just sad that they have to be disrespectful],” he wrote.

Chef Tatung also shared that, as seen on the CCTV footage, the diners had a “leisurely lunch,” stayed for almost an hour, and even ordered extra rice.

“Waiters checked on them every few minutes without any commotion until it was time to pay. I really don’t understand what wasย going on in their heads,” he expressed.

Netizens also aired their disappointment over the incident, with some speculating it was a modus or scam to get free meals at restaurants.
