CBCP Pushes Malacañang to Ban One Direction in the Philippines As They Lead Pinoys to the “Wrong Direction”
The popular English-Irish boy band One Direction is scheduled to hold a 2-day concert here in Manila from March 21-22 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds as part of their “On The Road Again” tour. All Filipino One Directioners flocked Mall of Asia a few weeks ago to buy tickets which even resulted to chaos when fans weren’t able to buy tickets.
I believe that this new scoop however, will upset millions of Filipino One Direction fans…
According to The Philippine Star, CBCP Episcopal Commission on Youth (ECY) executive secretary Fr. Conegundo Garganta called upon President Noynoy Aquino to ban One Direction from holding their two-day concert in the Philippines. Fr. Garganta said parents should not lead their children in the “wrong direction” as the popular boy band recently had a viral video where 2 members of One Direction were seen laughing and joking about marijuana as they apparently share a joint. Garganta also emphasized that concert organizers should “practice discernment” whenever inviting artists to perform in the Philippines.
For those who still haven’t seen the video, here it is:
Do you think we are really being led to the WRONG DIRECTION?
Should One Direction be banned in the country?
What are your thoughts about this issue?
I would love to read your comments!
