I also got pretty amazed when I found out that the business partners of Caffera are all senior Entrepreneur students of the University of Santo Tomas. “This is actually a class requirement, and the concept was our business proposal,” shared Jyka Espinoza who handles the marketing of Caffera. Even though the business proposal execution was just a class requirement, they all plan to continue the business and make it grow.
They just opened last September 13, and here’s their menu so far:
Notice that most of the names of the drinks that they serve are Instagram filters. The sizes are categorized into Pixel and Megapixel, which means small and large. The frappes are called Frapperture and the cold drinks have ISO in their names. Pretty clever, right?
How cute! Even their glasses are photography-related. They use lens mugs for their Frappertures. The taller ones are the Megapixel ones.
They also have cupcakes! As mentioned earlier, the cupcakes have fondant 2D and 3D DSLRs on top! The cupcakes are all homemade by Kevin Yu, one of the business partners.
These are also lovely gifts to give to others. They’re not pricey, they look cute, and they also taste good!
Caffera’s Bestsellers
It’s not as sweet as it looks and it tastes just right with coffee. I really did not want to eat the cute DSLR even though it’s edible. It’s just too cute to eat… I eventually ate it anyway.
Chocolate Chip Cookie S’mores (P110)
Ahh. Can you resist s’mores made from marshmallows sandwiched between two chocolate chip cookies with chocolate spread? Their Chocolate Chip Cookie S’mores are definitely something you shouldn’t miss out on when you visit. The cookies are served hot, so expect chocolatey goodness. Like the cupcakes, the cookies are homemade, too.
White Chocolate Pixel
For non-coffee drinkers, Caffera has the White Chocolate Pixel. It has coffee grounds on top, but its taste is not really salient unlike the white chocolate flavor.
Tiramisu Frapperture, Pixel (P120)
Their Frapperture bestseller is the Tiramisu Frapperture. It’s coffee-based with whipped cream on top drizzled with chocolate syrup. To top it off, there’s a fondant 3D DSLR. It tastes semi-sweet and semi-strong.
Sutro Caramel Macchiato, Megapixel (P95)
I DID NOT WANT TO RUIN THE SPIRAL LATTE ART OF THIS SUTRO CARAMEL MACCHIATO! This is also one of my favorites in Caffera. It has a strong flavor of espresso mixed with a milk and caramel flavor.
The Mocha Frapperture, Megapixel (P130)
The Mocha Frapperture is also sweet. It has a milk chocolate flavor mixed with espresso and milk topped with whip cream, drizzled with chocolate syrup, and dashed with coffee grounds. As you can see, it has a fondant DSLR, too.
