A stream of automobile innovation is bound to arrive on campus as the BYD (Build Your Dreams) Tech Tour is set to showcase an immersive exhibit to the Lasallian community for the first time, featuring the latest electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle models from BYD. The event will take place from February 10 to 12, 2025, at Henry Sy Sr. Hall Grounds (HSSH) from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, openly inviting the entire De La Salle University population, including Senior High School (SHS) students, undergraduate students, and faculty members. This initiative is part of a valued partnership between the Eco Archers Team and its 2024 team sponsor, ACMobility, aligning with both organizations’ commitment to advancing innovation in sustainable mobility.
The exhibit will showcase several of BYD’s latest vehicles, alongside a low-power charging station, which will be demonstrated live to showcase the process of charging electric vehicles. Additionally, product specialists from BYD Cars Philippines will be present to answer inquiries from Lasallians about the specifications and key features of electric vehicles. Visitors can also participate in interactive activities, giving them a chance to win exclusive prizes from ACMobility.
Being part of an influential partnership also means driving innovation. The Eco Archers Team is set to unveil its latest-generation battery-electric Urban Concept vehicle, “Zeta.” This marks the vehicle’s first public appearance on campus following the Shell Eco-marathon competition in July 2024 in Indonesia. Zeta is the team’s 9th iteration of innovation, solidifying its continuous contributions to automobile design through research and technology.
The BYD Tech Tour aims to engage Lasallians by raising awareness and providing information on the benefits of electric vehicle technology and its impact on environmental sustainability. EV technology presents an opportunity to usher in a new era of automotive efficiency for a greener future—promoting environmental conservation while fostering advanced research and development in Philippine transportation.
