BTS is about to set a new record with their album Map of the Soul: Persona—and it’s not even out yet!
Billboard reports that the hottest Korean boyband of the year has sold over 2.6 million copies since they opened pre-orders last March 13. Within just a week, BTS is already close to beating their previous records from prior album sales. LOVE YOURSELF 結 ‘Answer’ released in September last year sold 2.7 million units, while LOVE YOURSELF 轉 ‘Tear’ released in May sold 2.3 million units. These included physical and digital album sales.
Map of the Soul: Persona is scheduled to be released on April 14 ahead of the group’s Asia tour Love Yourself: Speak Yourself. BTS is also reportedly going to premiere songs off their upcoming album during their appearance at Saturday Night Live on April 13.
