Bonifacio High Street 4DX Cinemas: Experience a New Kind of High

Just when you thought Bonifacio High Street couldn’t get any better, Bonifacio High Street Central has decided to add a cinema to its roster of awesome restaurants and hangout places (Jamba Juice, Slice, Mango or Cotton On, anyone?) – and not just any cinema, mind you. While the Bonifacio High Street cinemas do have regular cinema screenings available, you will also be able to watch 4DX™ movies here!

4D Movie Experience at BHS Cinemas: The 4D movie theater

Yesterday, Bonifacio High Street Cinemas finally opened with four state-of-the-art movie theaters atop the new Central Square Building and we were lucky enough to catch the premiere of “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” while enjoying a revolutionary cinematic experience in their awesome 4DX™ cinemas.

While I already had an idea of what to expect, having tried out similar 4D experiences in amusement and entertainment parks all over the world, I really wasn’t ready for what I experienced in the actual movie house. Bonifacio High Street Cinemas is actually the first in the country to feature the game-changing 4DX™ technology, and I am telling you: it was a mind-blowing experience to say the least!

What the 4Dx movie theater looks like: 4D Theater

Similar to the 4D experiences in other venues, Bonifacio High Street’s 4DX™ Cinema provides an immersive experience that engages all of the senses, thanks to the pioneers of 4D cinema, South Korean company CJ 4DPlex. My initial worry was that I wouldn’t be able to wear makeup when watching a movie here (#richkidproblems), but don’t worry. Your dates will not be ruined when you go because they splash water in your face or make you think, “at least I hope that was water” while you watch movies here.

Instead, you will experience wind blowing in your face, lights flickering on every corner of the room and a lot of side-to-side rocking and rolling, up-and-down heaving, and forward-and-backward pitching that will really allow you to physically take part in what’s happening on-screen – and all in 3D to boot!

4Dx theater seats for your 4D movie

To be honest, I was expecting a bit of chair moving, sure; but what I didn’t expect was how it would feel more like an explosive roller coaster ride. It was more intense than I expected, but in a good way! The movements kept my adrenaline going and really ensured that I didn’t get bored at any moment whatsoever. You definitely won’t be able to fall asleep in this cinema – that’s for sure!

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is the perfect movie to watch at the 4DX™ cinema because of all of the action-packed scenes. Right from the beginning, you’ll get to experience everything that the 4DX™ cinema has to offer – and it definitely didn’t let me down. I was amazed by the precise choreography of all of the environmental effects and the motion system, in general. It definitely changed the way I saw movies!

I will be the first to admit that the 4DX™ cinema won’t be for everyone and it won’t be a good place to watch every movie that comes out. However, even if you aren’t a fan of roller coasters, 3D movies or fancy effects; it is the type of movie-watching experience that you need to experience at least once in your life – and now would be the best time to do it while “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is still in cinemas! I promise it will blow your mind!

Tickets are P450 each. Very reasonable in my opinion as it is pretty much the same price as an IMAX movie, but with moving chairs, wind, mist, flickering lights and the entire 4D shabang!
