These 2 BINI Members Reveal That They Want to Pursue Acting and Modeling

As BINI’s upcoming three-day concert, “Grand BINIverse,” is set to become a huge career milestone for the beloved P-pop girl group, several members shared their dreams and aspirations beyond music.

According to the latest episode of On Cue by MJ Felipe, BINI Gwen and BINI Maloi expressed their creative passions outside of music.

“I’ve always wanted to act like kapag nanunuod ako ng mga teleserye o K-dramas, I feel like gusto ko rin gawin ‘yon. Parang kaya ko rin gawin ‘yon (When I watch television series or K-dramas, I feel like I want to do that too. It’s like I can also do it),” Maloi shared.

The BINI main vocalist also expressed her gratitude to Filipino singer-songwriter Maki for casting her in the music video for his chart-topping hit “Dilaw.”

“Sobrang grateful ako na kinuha niya ako kasi (I’m so grateful that he casted me because) I really want to show people the other side of me, the other talent that I have,” she said, adding that she was able to showcase a nonchalant and calmer side of her, which was far from the usual bubbly and cheerful aura that she presents to the public.

The entertainment host then asked Maloi who she would like to work with in an acting scene.

“Ms. Maricel Soriano,” she said with excitement. “Gusto ko pong masampal ni Ms. Maricel. Okay lang po kung masampal, it’s an honor (I’d like to be slapped by Ms. Maricel. It’s okay if I get slapped, it would be an honor).”

Meanwhile, BINI Gwen also expressed her desire to try acting.

“Sobrang hindi ako marunong, like wala po talaga, pero curious lang ako (I really don’t know how to act, but I’m curious),” she shared, adding that she wants to explore the drama genre.

The lead vocalist also shared that she looks up to Janella Salvador and Sarah Geronimo, who are both known for their singing and acting pursuits.

Besides acting, the BINI singer shared that it has always been her dream to pursue modeling due to her childhood experience. In BINI’s dedicated fanbase, she currently stands out for her iconic short hair.

“Sa ramp hindi masaydo. Pero sa photoshoots, kasi mas dito mas maraming photoshoots sa mga ganap namin (Not so much on the runway. But I had more experience with photoshoots because we do it more often [as BINI]),” she said.

She continued that there is still so much to learn about modeling: “Ilang years pa lang din. Hindi talaga bihasa (pero) mas gusto ko siya ngayon (It has only been a few years. I’m not really skilled yet, but I like it more now).”

Apart from BINI Maloi and BINI Gwen, BINI Jhoanna has also delved into her passions outside of singing.

The BINI leader has been known for radio broadcasting talents prior to becoming part of the nation’s girl group. She was previously featured as a “Star Patroller” or guest reporter on the evening news show “TV Patrol.”

BINI’s sold-out three-day concert “Grand BINIverse” is set to take place from November 16 to 18 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
