When In Manila there is no better way to kill time than to spend it in a mall. Stroll around and do window shopping or if you have the capability do the retail therapy. Good news from Ayala Land to mall-goers, like me, as they open the redeveloped Glorietta 1 and 2 just in time for Christmas.

In a small gathering of media people last October 29; Bobby Dy, Ayala Land‘s Executive Vice President, noted that this would be the company’s “largest and most ambitious project”. He furthered that Ayala Land cashed out almost Php 20 billion for this phase of the project alone. Included in this phase are the constructions of the hotels, residential towers and business establishments at the Ayala Center facing Pasay Road.
“The budget for Phase 1 of the project is P20 billion and this phase includes the construction of Fairmont Makati and Raffles Makati and Holiday Inn and Suites Makati,” said Bobby Dy.

For many years, Glorietta is the center of anything that speaks urban lifestyle – with a wide range of retail stores, entertainment and dining choices – located at the heart of the country’s premiere business district, Ayala Center Makati. The newly developed Glorietta is set to amaze the new generation of mall-goers, offering the same degree of retail experiences in the backdrop of a more eco-savvy, more refreshing and more rewarding urban paradise.
“We go beyond shopping. [We are focusing on] Accessibility and Experience – convenience, [less] traffic and [more] parking spaces,” says Rowena Tomeldan, VP and Head of Operations & Support Services Commercial Business Group at Ayala Land.

Glorietta is currently receiving 350,000 of foot traffic everyday and Ayala Land, Inc. is expecting this number to double – or even triple – as the whole Glorietta reopens. The revamped Glorietta will feature the flagship stores of local and internation retail giants like Folded & Hung, Bench, Zara and Topshop. Glorietta will continue to be the main destination for world-class shopping, dining, and entertainment. From new concept stores, like Bershka, Stradivarius, Vince Camuto and Gant Shirtmakers, to the flavorful dining establishments of Wee Nam Kee, Tong Yang, Watami, and Chucky Cheese, to the new addition of gadget centers powered by Switch, Avid Sony, and Digital Walker, the new Glorietta features retail variety with best in choice consumer brands.
