As part of ongoing efforts to develop communities and increase digital literacy among low-income families,ย Ayalaย Foundation recently secured over 800 Chromebook laptops from JPMorgan Chase โ€“ Philippine Global Service Center. The donation willย be used toย improve learning outcomes and the competitiveness of micro and small enterprises in underserved communities.ย

This donation underscores JPMorgan Chase and Ayalaย Foundation’sย joint commitment to economic inclusion by fostering digital literacy and providingย access to technology toย public school students and small business owners.ย The turnover ceremonies were held simultaneously last April 4 at JPMorgan Chase offices in Manila and Cebu.ย

โ€œThe Chromebooks helped our employees remain productive andย stayย connected during the pandemic.ย Weโ€™reย happy to see that these will do the same forย  Ayala Foundation beneficiaries nationwide,โ€ย said Bettina Salmo, head of the Corporate Centers in the Philippines.ย ย

This donation marks JPMorganย Chaseโ€™sย continued collaboration withย Ayalaย Foundation. In 2014, J.P. Morgan, through its philanthropic arm, JPMorgan Chase Foundation, awarded a grant to support teacher training under the Center for Excellence in Public Elementary Education (CENTEX) initiative, Ayalaย Foundationโ€™sย support program for DepEd public school students and teachers in various parts of the country.

As part of its commitment to community development, building and consolidating partnerships isย keyย forย Ayalaย Foundation as it aims to drive lasting impact inย the areas where it operates.ย

โ€œWe are grateful to JPMorgan for its generous contribution to our community development programs,โ€ย said Tony Lambino, Ayala Foundation President.ย โ€œBy jointly investing in our communities, we enable better access to education and economic opportunities and increase development impact.”

Ayala Foundation will distribute the 800 Chromebooks across its various programs and communities to support its education and livelihood projects.

Mostย of theย laptops will be used by students and teachers in underserved areas via digital education platforms, while others willย be assignedย to U-Go college scholars. Several units will be donated to support community enterprises under Project Lio in Palawan, where the Chromebooks will be used to digitalize and streamline their operations.ย

Asย Ayalaย Foundation works toward building thriving communities, it will continue to forge strategic partnershipsย to better serve its beneficiaries.
