Awra Briguela was previously arrested for physical injuries, alarm and scandal, direct assault, and disobedience to a person in authority, after engaging in a fight in Barangay Poblacion, Makati City, on Thursday.
After less than 48 hours in police custody, the release of Awra Briguela has been ordered by The Makati Regional Court on Saturday night. This comes as the “Ang Probinsyano” actress posted bail of ₱6,000, as confirmed by Police Chief PCol. Edward Cutiyog.

According to the police report, a complainant stated that the actress “violently” tore his shirt. Her friends then got involved in the situation which caused it to escalate. When police arrived to intervene, Briguela allegedly became verbally abusive and expressed disregard for their authority, the Southern Police District claimed.
In defense of Awra, friends and netizens took to social media to voice out that she was only protecting a friend who was sexually harassed by a group of men. The Makati police also faced criticism from the LGBTQIA+ community for allegedly manhandling the actress during her arrest.
As of writing, Awra Briguela is yet to make a public statement on what happened during the Poblacion brawl.
