Arci Muñoz Got Her Credit Card Stolen During Business Class Flight

Arci Muñoz took to social media to warn the public about the possible “modus operandi” she experienced after allegedly getting her credit card stolen on a business class flight.

On TikTok, the actress-singer detailed the incident during her flight from Japan to Manila with the caption, “Horror story in the sky.” She boarded Korean Air flight KE 704, which landed in Incheon, South Korea, for a one-hour layover.

She recalled a man reaching out for a magazine from her business class cubicle a few minutes before landing, “May lalaking nakatayo sa cubicle ko tapos kinukuha niya yung magazine doon sa cubicle ko knowing that all cubicles in the business class has magazines di ba. So ako naman inisip ko lang na baka wala siya nung magazine na nandoon sa cubicle ko.”

Arci thought nothing was unusual until a woman interrupted and confronted the man upon seeing him touching the former’s bag.

“I saw my bag on the floor, near the aisle. Eh, sa window seat ako nakaupo,” she said.

Arci emphasized that they called the flight attendant to report the incident. However, the suspicious man denied it. She also described that the man was well-dressed and clothed with luxury items.

“So, I was thinking. Ano to, modus talaga nila? Sumasakay sila ng mga business class, they fly.”

The 34-year-old said she didn’t notice something missing from her bag as all her cards were stored in one place until, after two days, she received a notification from the bank that someone was using her credit card in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam and Jakarta, Indonesia.

Following her experience, she warned the public and reminded travelers to always become alert and mindful of their belongings. Then, she went on by thanking her bank for prompt action.

“I’m doing this video lang para lang you guys are aware na may mga ganitong modus kahit sa eroplano. The world is not a safe place.”

Despite her not being able to report the incident to Korean Air when she landed in South Korea due to the limited time of her layover, Arci called the attention of the airline as she concluded her video.

“Korean Air, I left my email with you because I was not able to report, so I left my email, and you said you’re gonna follow up on this case.”

She added, “I hope to hear from you guys, and I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else because if he did this once, for sure, he’s gonna do it again. Not until we do something to stop it.”

As of writing, Korea Air has yet to release a statement or update about the incident. WhenInManila.com also reached out to them and is still awaiting a response.
