Aninag Theatre, a group of Theater Arts students from the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) School of Arts, Culture, and Performance (SACP), is staging May Isang Alamat, a play written by multi-awarded playwright Layeta Bucoy, under the direction of Joshua Lim So, a Palanca awardee and Benilde Film professor. The play explores environmental, political, and social issues, portraying a post-apocalyptic world where a violent leader, Pinuno, and a young girl, Batang Walang Silbi, battle against human selfishness and greed. The story unfolds in a world where contradictions in beliefs spark conflict, shedding light on apathy and the hope of rediscovering empathy.
May Isang Alamat premiered on November 22, 2024, and will run through November 23 (11 a.m.), and November 26–29, 2024 (1 p.m. and 5 p.m.), at the 6th Floor Black Box, Benilde Design+Arts Campus, 950 Pablo Ocampo Street, Malate, Manila. Tickets are available at various prices: P300 for students, P330 for senior citizens and PWDs, P350 for regular attendees, and P400 for VIPs. Gala access is P500. Register at this link.
