Andi Eigenmann took to social media to open up about the heartfelt story behind her new palm leaf tattoo.

In an Instagram post, she revealed that the tattoo is a tribute to her late mother, Jaclyn Jose.
“Finally got my palm leaf in honor of my nanay (mother), just days before her 1st death anniversary. Indicative of multiple meanings all relating to the facets of her being that I would also like to embody,” she wrote.
The former actress shared that her tattoo symbolizes Jaclyn’s strength, highlighting it as the “most admirable thing” about her mother. She added that it signifies victory, referencing Jaclyn’s achievements as a veteran actress.
“Growing up was special, witnessing someone firsthand, constantly refining her craft, always striving for excellence in doing what she loved most. Her dedication to evolving her art was a testament to her passion. What a privilege to have this woman as my mother,” she continued.
Andi explained that her tattoo also represents eternal life, as her mother will “always and forever live” within her. She even expressed her grief over Jaclyn’s passing and talked about how she chooses to honor her in the best way possible.
“In almost one year of mourning her loss, of going through this grief, I would always get lost in my head figuring out the best way to honor my mother. Recently, I’ve come to realise that there is no better way than to take a good look at this life that she gave me, the best gift she could give, and to continue to treasure and cherish it by living it the best way I know how. Just as she would always want me to,” she noted.

“As grief changes me, I would like to carry these facets [of] who she was, alongside those of mine that I know she always loved. This journey of grief has been long and tough, and quite frankly, sometimes dark. But I believe that the love you showered me with should be enough to trust that I will again see the light,” she concluded.
Jaclyn passed away on March 2, 2024, due to myocardial infarction, also known as heart attack.
