Andi Eigenmann confirmed on March 4 the passing of her mother, Jaclyn Jose. In a press conference, she revealed that the veteran actress died on the morning of March 2 due to a myocardial infarction or heart attack.
“I announce the untimely passing of my nanay Mary Jane Guck, better known as Jaclyn Jose, at the age of 60 on the morning of March 2nd, 2024, due to myocardial infarction or a heart attack,” she announced.
“We’d like to thank everyone who has since extended their prayers and condolences to us as our family is trying to come to terms with this unfortunate incident.”
Andi asked for respect and privacy as they mourned the death of Jaclyn, “Please provide us the respect and privacy to grieve, and we hope this puts all speculations to rest.”
She also paid tribute to her mother’s legacy in the Philippine film and TV industry for four decades.
“Her undeniable legacy will forever live on through her work, through her children, and the many lives she has touched as she herself, her life herself, was her greatest obra maestra.”
Prior to this, the veteran actress’ management, PPL Entertainment, confirmed her passing.
Jaclyn is known for her prominent roles in several films and series, such as โOlongapo: The Great American Dream,โ โPatay na si Hesus,โ โAtaul: For Rent,โ โThe Flor Contemplacion Story,โ โMula sa Puso,โ and โFPJโs Batang Quiapo.โ
Aside from earning recognition in FAMAS, Gawad Urian, Luna Awards, The Eddys, and Metro Manila Film Fest, she even made history as the first Filipino and Southeast Asian to win the Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Award for her role as a matriarch and drug dealer in the 2016 drama film โMaโ Rosa.โ
