In a recent study gathered from online restaurant listing and review website “Yelp”, The Huffington Post created a map that showed which cuisines are popular in which states. Surprisingly, three US states shown massive affection for Filipino food. These states are Alaska, Nevada, and Hawaii.

From this map, we can see that Filipino cuisine is on top for Alaska and Nevada. In the Yelp data, Filipino cuisine is third for Hawaii. The map does not necessarily mean that it is the most popular cuisine in each state, but rather it displays how a specific cuisine or food outperforms others in the state as compared to the national average. Furthermore, the data is limited to what is available from Yelp. It may not show a complete representation per state, but it gives a rough idea about it.
Below is the detailed breakdown for the three states.

- Fish and chips — 200 percent higher than national average.
- Thai — 158 percent higher than national average.

Americans Have Massive Love for Filipino Food
Its just that those states are high number of Filipinos.
I find this article completely and utterly misleading. There is no way possible. I live in Southern California, the second highest concentration of Filipinos in the nation. If that’s true, how come all the Filipino restaurants around here only have Filipinos in them and they are not many nor as busy as Chinese restaurants —- That isn’t a “Massive Love for Filipino Foods” … most of my Caucasian friends have never even tried anything on the menu. I think there is more “Filipino Pride” written in this article than anything else.
I never experienced FIlipino food at all in America, but since I moved to the Philippines, halo-halo is the bomb!!!! Lechon manok is REEEEAAAAALLLYYYYY good.
I will NEVER touch balut though….you’d have to offer me a few million pesos just to touch my tongue to that.
