Ámame, a pioneering brand committed to creating safe spaces exclusively for queer women, proudly announces its forthcoming launch in the fourth quarter of 2023. The highly-anticipated Ámame Lounge, located in an undisclosed venue accessible only to Ámame Club members through the Ámame Online app, will revolutionize the concept of safety and inclusivity for the female subculture of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Ámame has been at the forefront of recognizing the need for safe and welcoming environments where queer women can freely express themselves, form meaningful connections, and cultivate a sense of community. With the upcoming launch of Ámame Lounge, the brand takes a bold leap forward by offering an exclusive members-only haven designed specifically to cater to their unique needs and desires.
Members of the Ámame Membership Club can anticipate an unparalleled experience inside Ámame Lounge. Created and designed by Arch. La Diaz, a Queer Architect and one of the founders, the Lounge will provide an atmosphere that fosters connection, personal growth, and celebration. By granting access exclusively to Ámame Club members, the brand ensures a secure environment where queer women can thrive and feel comfortable exploring their authentic selves.
Focusing on privacy, Ámame provides a space where women can truly express their authentic selves without fear of being judged.
Ámame is the brainchild of Arch. Diaz and her queer partner, Jec Sarabia. Together, they created the concept of having a thoughtfully and artfully designed club for women.
Ámame Lounge initially faced setbacks due to the pandemic, but time allowed the team to improve their concept and focus on leveraging technology. By combining innovative solutions with an understanding of the female LGBTQIA+ community’s needs, Ámame seeks to facilitate genuine connections and empower queer women in the Philippines, and eventually worldwide, by building a sustainable business that withstands the test of time.
The Ámame Membership Club serves as the gateway to this extraordinary haven, offering a seamless sign-up process through the proprietary Ámame Online app. It serves as the primary platform for members to connect, share experiences, and access exclusive content and events. As an Ámame Pink Circle member, individuals gain access to a range of unique privileges and perks, including priority event access, exclusive merchandise, discounts with ÁmameX partner brands, and more. Membership in the Ámame Pink Circle ensures an enhanced sense of belonging and prestige within the vibrant Ámame community.
Ámame is currently Diaz’ capstone project at the Asian Institute of Management, the top business school in Southeast Asia and the only AACSB-accredited school in the Philippines. According to Diaz, “When I entered AIM, I made a promise to myself to put all my learnings into action, and I had two options: my architectural design studio, L.Ateliér Architects, or Ámame. I chose the latter because of the potential social impact it can provide, and I have come to realize how passionate I am about building spaces for queer women. As a bonus, this project is also our baby!”
When asked about the future of Ámame, Diaz says “Ámame used to be a passion project that I wanted to do apart from my architecture and construction business. My studies at AIM opened my eyes and totally shifted my perspective and now, Ámame has become bigger and bolder than ever. Through tech-enabled solutions, we managed to solve issues that traditional brick-and-mortar establishments have difficulty solving. Being in the business of building, your imagination can run wild on the types of infrastructure we can build, and the projects we can pioneer. Stay tuned because there’s a lot more to come!”.
Ámame remains steadfast in its commitment to creating a world where queer women feel safe, celebrated, and valued. Through its innovative approach, Ámame revolutionizes the concept of safe spaces, fostering an environment that empowers queer women to live authentically and confidently, both online and offline.
