Ever dreamed of being in a boy group? With KPop making such huge waves, ABS-CBN has partnered with Korean companies KAMP Global and MLD Entertainment to create a Filipino boy group that will debut in Korea.
A contract was recently signed for the upcoming reality talent search show, Dream Maker. According to a report by ABS-CBN News, ABS-CBN TV Production Head and Star Magic Head Laurenti Dyogi explains, “We’re really serious about getting into the international arena. We’re looking at all ways and means to get the Filipino artist, the Filipino talent, to be recognized globally. We’re very happy to have partners who recognize that Filipinos are very talented and that we can compete globally. This is one step. With our two new partners, it will be easier, faster, and better for us to get to the global arena in the shortest possible time.”
MLD Entertainment CEO Lee Hyung-jin, whose company launched Lapillus and MOMOLAND, states that he believes PPop will be on the rise after KPop. By putting a PPop group into the KPop training system, he hopes to create a global group that will truly go places.
