According to David, one of the primary challenges was to achieve a balance between Kraven’s imposing physique and his agile movements. “In order to make sure Aaron was not only looking like Kraven the Hunter but also performing like Kraven the Hunter, we had to keep athleticism as part of the program as well as keeping muscle mass levels high,” he shares. “We did this with a combination of conditioning sprint drills, mobility, and flexibility as well as his rigorous stunt rehearsals.”

Known for his unwavering dedication to his roles, Aaron proved to be an ideal client for David. “Aaron is incredibly hardworking and really is truly focused on each role he takes,” David gushes. “He works hard in every area including his time in the gym and his nutrition every single day. I’ve always been lucky to have hardworking actors as clients, and Aaron is absolutely no exception!” This commitment played a crucial role in his transformation, allowing him to achieve the desired physique and athleticism for Kraven the Hunter.

Beyond the physical training, David also focused on mental strategies and techniques to help Aaron prepare for the intense physical and emotional demands of the role. This included managing his weekly schedule, and adjusting workloads and rest days. Mental resilience was equally important as Aaron faced the challenges of a demanding role and the physical strain of training. “Communication is also a key part of this process to make sure I know how they are feeling both physically and mentally,” David adds.

Nutrition also played a vital role in Aaron’s transformation, not only for physical appearance but also for optimal energy production, hormone balance, and mental performance. “The diet is focused primarily on easy-to-digest and -absorb nutrient-dense foods providing the macro and micronutrients needed for peak performance, foods like red meat, eggs, fruit, liver, seafood, potatoes, avocado, white rice, and honey,” David reveals. “Protein intake has to remain high throughout to maintain muscle mass and also fat intake and fat-soluble vitamins for optimum performance.”

To minimize the risk of injuries, David designed training sessions with a focus on stable movements, proper recovery, and avoiding excessive weekly fatigue. “We use a lot of resistance machines for this reason as they are more stable for reduced risk and better motor unit recruitment (more muscle activation),” he shares, adding that stunts are the biggest risk so they had to ensure correct warmups before every single stunt as well. The good news is: they managed to get through the entire shoot without any injuries!
