Summer is in full swing and it is very hard to find a nice quiet resort to relax. When headed north, we’ve discovered a new resort where you can relax and taste amazing food.
Vitalis Villas, located in Ilocos, isn’t as far as most would think. It is located in Santiago, Ilocos Sur, one of the few towns you will pass by as you enter the province. If you will be commuting, the buses going to Laoag or Vigan will pass by Santiago. After getting off at Santiago, Vitalis Villas is only about 3 minutes away.
While going to Vitalis, it will be quite impossible not so spot the resort–just take a look at it:
Look at that view!
The Santorini of Ilocos Sur boasts of its wide and open view of the sea. Because the resort is huge, you can actually use a golf cart to go around.
And when you get tired of walking around, you can always plunge in the infinity pool just below the restaurant.
Another pool is on the upper floor and is overlooking the main pool area and the beach.
The resort living in Vitalis Villas is so good that you may not want to leave. The outdoors are gorgeous and the indoors are very relaxing. Perfect for those looking for a stress-free vacation.
The Villa we occupied was clean, sleek, stylish, and huge! The living room area can be converted to a sleeping area if you are traveling in a large group.
There is also a dining area and kitchen. There’s a microwave, stove, and coffee maker, but you might need to bring plates, utensils, and cooking stuff if you guys want to prepare your own meals.
As soon as we entered the bedroom, I just wanted to dive into those crisp white sheets.
The rooms are very clean and spacious; it makes you want to sing “I’m never gonna leave this bed…”
The attention to details in the resort’s design is amazing. From the paint, the sheets, the window shades, and even the little lamps attached outside the outdoor area of each villa.
And, aside from the gorgeous resort, the food is glorious too!
The restaurant is located near the pool area where they usually have breakfast buffets, although their individual orders are quite special too and are worthy a try.

Everyone loves pizza, right? Well this all-meat pizza takes it up a notch higher. The usual pizza with sauce, ham, pepperoni, and meatballs gets some Ilocos twist–yes, the famous bagnet!
The Katuray Pizza, on the other hand, contains tomato, goat cheese, anchovy, pecorino cheese, and Katuray vegetable which is usually found in Ilocos Pinakbet.
One of the best things for merienda — Pita with Hummus!
If you love pasta and are feeling adventurous, the Uni Pasta is one of the favorites in Vitalis. Yes Uni, as in sea urchin. It’s delicious. Resort guests LOVE it, and so did we.
Winning the title of “most-attractive” dish in the menu is the Lechon Belly with Karimbuaya Stuffing. The two generous slices of the Lechon Belly is actually good for two, so just order extra rice! Just watch your blood pressure though. :p Take it slow and order pineapple juice that’s a perfect pairing to Vitalis Villa’s great dishes.
There are tons of beautiful resorts in the Philippines and Vitalis Villas is just one of the few that you might want to include in your bucket list.
