The Star Wars saga has begun staging a major comeback into the big screen lately. With Star Wars episode 7– a continuation of the original star wars trilogy –slated for release this coming December 17, people at Lucas and Disney have a lot on their plate with a dozen other Star Wars films like Episode 8 and their first stand-alone film Rouge One.
This time, they’ve just announced another film in the series: an untitled Han Solo anthology movie, focusing on everyone’s beloved smuggler-turned-general for the rebel army in his younger years.
According to games and movies website ign.com Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucas films, pegged Han Solo in his “high teens, low 20s” in this anthology.
Will the film be answering all those mysterious questions about Han Solo? Nope. Kennedy assured fans that the film won’t demystify Han solo’s character, saying that they don’t want to “spend time going back and answering a lot of questions that, quite frankly, I don’t think people want answered.”
Kennedy also adds that the film will stay true to Han Solo’s iconic comedy and wit, so you can expect this film to be full of laughs.
So far we only know that the film will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris miller, directors of the Jump street films, and that it’s scheduled for release on May 25, 2018. As for the casts, we’ll just have to wait.
