When In Manila, Italian restaurants can be run of the mill but not the same can be said for world-famous Boracay Island. Known for its white sands, pulsing nightlife and slew of restaurants and eateries, it comes as a surprise that quality Italian cuisine can be hard to find. With this in mind, we consider ourselves lucky to come across the fresh, authentic offerings of Don Vito Ristorante Italiano.ย

Housed in beachfront Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel in Station 2, the restaurant impresses by providing multiple ambiances: al fresco dining suited for large, casual get-togethers while its ambient interiors are perfect for intimate dinners. Wine glasses hang by the bar amidst stacked bottles of wine, lending a romantic feel in the interior area whereas the al fresco diners can enjoy fresh pizza by the beach while listening to the live bands play every night.ย
To start off, we were served the Cream of Fresh Tomato and Basil Soup (Php 80.00). Thick and creamy in texture, the soup tasted quite delicious especially when served hot. The tomatoes were obviously fresh and successfully whetted our appetite.ย
Next up, we were served the Exotic Mandarin Salad (Php 300.00). One might be initially taken aback as it’s served unlike the usual salads you’d see in the City. In theme with the tropical setting, this salad is very light and fruity. Composed of lettuce, carrots, cucumber, Mandarin oranges, tomatoes, grapes, fresh mango, grilled chicken breast, honey mustard & yogurt dressing, this salad is a kaleidoscopic carnival of flavors. It has a dominantly sweet taste, and the serving can be good to share for up to two people.

For the main course, the Don Vito’s Speciali (Php 430.00)ย became our absolute favorite. The taste was superb! The toppings were fresh, the dough perfectly toasted with an even spread of Italian mozzarella. Topped with ham, tomato, pepperoni, and mushroom, the pizza is light and flavorful without overwhelming the palate. Definitely one of the best pizzas we’ve tasted in the Island!ย
Aside from the pizza, we tried the Fettuccini Don Vito (Php 330.00) which is a combination of tomato and cream sauce topped with sauteed mushroom, sun-dried tomato, and grilled chicken breast. The pasta was good, but I’d have to say it was the pizza that truly stole our hearts away.ย
Accompanying the delicious food was the house wine that capitalized our food experience in Don Vito Italian Restaurant. The Montipulcian dโ Abruzzo which is exported from Italy accompanied the creamy cuisine very well and is priced at Php 220.00 per glass.ย
Another unique offering by Don Vito is their special, authentic gelato! With so many flavors to choose from and an affordable price of Php 100.00 for two scoops, it’s a great way to refresh yourself after a long, hot day at the beach. We especially love the Ferrerro-flavored gelato!ย
When In Boracay and craving for hot, authentic Italian food? Look no further than Don Vito Ristorante Italiano. Complete your summer experience with fresh offerings, superb customer service, and an unforgettable dining experience!ย
