The first look at Sunrise on the Reaping, the prequel to The Hunger Games, is finally here!

On October 16, publishing company Scholastic revealed the book cover, which is set to be published on March 18, 2025.

“The story we’ve all been waiting for from Suzanne Collins, the author of the #1 worldwide bestselling Hunger Games series,” Scholastic wrote on Instagram. “Welcome to Haymitch’s Games.”
Sunrise on the Reaping follows the life of Haymitch Abernathy as he competes in the 50th Hunger Games, 24 years before he becomes a mentor for Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark and 40 years after the events from The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
Apart from the book release, a movie adaptation is also in the works! It is set to be released in 2026.

In the previous books and the movies, Haymitch was portrayed by Woody Harrelson. Discussions about who will portray the younger version of Haymitch is an ongoing topic among avid fans and readers.
The Hunger Games is a series of dystopian novels written by renowned American author Suzanne Collins. The first three books were The Hunger Games (2008), Catching Fire (2009), and Mockingjay (2010), while the prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was written and published in 2020.
