Vicki Belo is beyond grateful to mark seven years of being cancer-free. The celebrity doctor took to social media to recall battling stage 3 breast cancer.
“I was never comfortable talking about my cancer but I’m feeling extremely #grateful this holiday season— here’s to 7 years being cancer free,” she captioned her post.
In a video posted on Instagram, she showed photos of herself from January 2016, when she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.
“It was a very scary and difficult time for me because all the doctors wouldn’t give me any assurance that I would get well. They just said they would try their best,” she said.

Belo even shared photos with her daughter, Scarlet Snow, after her third chemotherapy session. Then, she admitted that she was afraid Scarlet would grow up without a mother as she hadn’t yet survived cancer by that time.
She continued, “After I did my six chemotherapies here [in the Philippines], I went to Atlanta, Georgia, stated with my sister, Karen, to do my radiation in the States.”
The doctor also recalled attending the wedding of her daughter, Cristalle Belo, whom she shared with her ex-husband Atom Henares.
“Cristalle was getting married on September 16, and I wouldn’t be finishing my radiation, so I wouldn’t make [it to] her wedding. So the only way I could do that is to do double radiation everyday for like two weeks to make it.”

She emphasized that she felt really sick during that time and shared photos of her from the wedding, describing herself as “terrible.”
“I remember people were bashing me. My dress was ugly, I looked bad. I guess they didn’t know what I was going through.”
She said she made the video for anybody who’s battling cancer.
“Here I am in 2023, seven years, cancer-free. And all I have to tell you is all you have to do really is pray because our Jesus Christ with the big C is much bigger than the cancer with the small c,” she concluded.

In October 2022, Belo first revealed she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She has been married to Hayden Kho since 2017. They welcomed Scarlet in 2015.
