GMA Network television series “Maria Clara at Ibarra” will soon be shown on Netflix Philippines, allowing more people to watch the show and understand why it grew to become such a popular series these past months!
To those who aren’t in the know, “Maria Clara at Ibarra” follows the adventure of Gen Z nursing student Klay (Barbie Forteza) who wakes up to find herself in the world of Jose Rizal’s novels “Noli Me Tangere” and “El Filibusterismo.” Klay slowly becomes more patriotic and aware of sociopolitical issues the longer she stays trapped inside the books, after meeting and becoming friends with Maria Clara (Julie Anne San Jose), Crisostomo Ibarra (Dennis Trillo), and Fidel (David Licauco).
“Maria Clara at Ibarra” ran from October 2022 to February 2023 with over 100 episodes and inspired many Filipinos young and old to learn more about Philippine history and to reread Rizal’s works.
According to reports, the show will premiere on Netflix on April 14, 2023.
