Herminio Alcasid Sr., the father of 53-year-old singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid, has passed away.
Ogie announced this sad news on his Instagram account where he posted a photo of them together on Tuesday, September 15.
“I will miss you so much Dad. My heart grieves knowing you are gone but I am at peace because you are in the loving arms of our Father in heaven. I love you so much Daddy,” he wrote on the caption.
Fans and friends immediately poured out their love to Ogie and sent their condolences for his loss.
He did not disclose what his father had died of.

Herminio Sr, a lawyer, was a former board member of the Philippine National Oil Co. Development and Management Corporation (PNOC) in 2010, appointed by then-president Benigno Aquino III. He was later reappointed as PNOC’s president and CEO.
