While we know him as the MCU’s most likeable villain Loki, did you know that Tom Hiddleston actually auditioned for the part of Thor?
Before landing the role of Loki (tbh, we can’t imagine anyone playing the God of Mischief), Tom Hiddleston went out on a limb, put on a blonde wig for the screen test, and wielded Thor’s hammer in hopes of portraying the God of Thunder.

While it didn’t quite work out like he probably planned, we’re so glad that he ended up nabbing the role of Loki, as no one else seems fit to play the raven-haired, adopted brother of Thor. With his wits and quirks, Tom Hiddleston cemented his place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as one of the most polarizing characters and most beloved villains.
We can’t wait to catch Loki, either!
