December 20, 2019 was a memorable day for 50 couples as they tied the knot and began their journey to forever. What made their day even more special is that Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto officiated the wedding.
Kasalang Bayan.
Congratulations and Best Wishes to the 50 couples who were married this morning. This was my first time officiating a wedding.

In a tweet, the mayor said, “Kasalang Bayan. Congratulations and Best Wishes to the 50 couples who were married this morning. This was my first time officiating a wedding.”
According to the law, mayors of cities and municipalities are allowed to officiate a civil wedding.
Mayor Vico, whose own single status has become viral online, has a message for those asking about his marriage plans. He added in his tweet, “Ang magtanong ng, “eh ikaw kailan ka ikakasal?” magmumulta ng 500 pesos.” [“Those who will ask, ‘How about you? When will you get married?’ will be charged P500.”]
Last May, Vico admitted that he currently doesnโt have a girlfriend because he simply doesnโt have time for one. โPag may free time ako, mas gusto ko pang matulog o magpahinga na lang,โ he explained. [When I have free time, Iโd rather sleep or rest.]
Earlier this month, the mayor was spotted watching a Southeast Asian Games event with Umagang Kay Ganda host Gretchen Ho, sparking speculations that they are dating. The two have not reacted to the news.
