My Hero Academia, the popular anime series set in a super-powered world, is set to begin airing on a local channel once again next month. Starting April 7, the anime will be air on ABS-CBN every Sunday at 9:15 am. Since this is the network’s first time to show My Hero Academia it will most likely be broadcasting the first season.

Although this is not the first time the series will be aired in the Philippines (it previously ran on YeY last November 2018), it’s still a great opportunity to expose more Filipinos to anime and gain support for the art. It is also especially important for children to have access to good quality media and storytelling as it informs the way they develop.
There has been no word yet on if the anime will be dubbed over in Filipino. But many assume that it will be since the previous airing on YeY (which is an ABS-CBN owned channel) did have a Filipino dub. Some have already started to complain and make jokes about this, but at least the show will be understandable to a larger group of people.
My Hero Academia follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy who dreams of being a hero but was born without a ‘quirk’ (more commonly known as superpowers). This problem is soon solved when All Might encounters this boy and sees his potential. Midoriya eventually attends U.A. High School, the training ground for young superheroes, after All Might passes down the “One For All” quirk to him.
