8. Where to have Coffee?
Toby’s Estate located at L.P. Leviste Street, Makati is a place where you can find coffee that will exceed your expectations. It was founded in Sydney, Australia and was recently brought here in the Philippines. Its clear it’s one of the best coffee experiences out there.
We’ve heard a lot about it from different kinds of people, ranging from young adults to office workers and even families and all of them are raving about the high quality coffee they serve.
They also have off the menu items such as the Double Ristretto and their Arctic Mocha (ladies you will love this on a hot day!) It’s essentially a gelato smoothie with Black Gold Cacao and their signature Woollomooloo blend. All natural and no preservatives. PATTY MELT
Smashed burger patty, cheese, coleslaw
The best, I repeat, the best sandwich I have ever come accross with. Unlike other Paninis this had a smushed up burger patty in the middle–yes I know, I know. Wasn’t what I initially wanted to order but our server Alvin (please ask for him as he knows the menu inside and out.) he recommended this as he said this is his personal favorite and so, we went along with it. Was in an adventurous mood even though we weren’t the biggest burger fans. BUT WOW. Did I mention there is a string of beautiful melted cheese in it? And how the potato chips were sticking the the sides of the sandwich hanging on for dear life so you may experience a bit of crunch in your bites? The flavor was so compact that it didn’t register to me what I was eating. I just knew it was something good.
LINGUINE
Sauteed mushrooms with fresh herbs in a butter emulsion
Mushroom, olive oil and carbohydrates are my weakness. Italy outdid itself there–but Australia? Didn’t know you had it in you, Aussies but that was really good pasta! Whoever said too much parmesan is a negative son of a gun, but if you don’t like the slight hint of acidity after taste of parmesan, you may want to skip it or have it on the side.
Calamansi Pie
Every table you look, you can spot a little green triangle with a mound of whip cream on top. Yep, that’s how much people like this Calamansi Pie. It tasted well, like calamansi. Acidic and not too sweet. Perfect balance for a cup of coffee on the side. They also have Bucky’s Brownies and a whole lot of pastries for you to choose from. Please have a scoop of Carmen’s Best Salted Caramel! Best Salted Caramel kind I have ever had!
