Kuya J started out as an eatery in Cebu serving delightful dishes that Cebuanos easily came to love. After some time, the love for Kuya Jโs dishes spread not only in Cebu but in different parts of the Philippines, too. From its humble beginnings in Cebu, Kuya J now opened its 100th branch in Puerto Princesa, Palawan last October 7, 2017!
Haven’t tried Kuya J yet? Here are 6 Filipino dishes from Kuya J that you can enjoy:
6. Chorizo Dinamitas
The Barako Finger, a.k.a. the Dynamite Chili, is a favorite food of Filipinos to snack on. Kuya Jโs version of the Jalapeno-wrapped snack is filled with Cebu chorizo and cheese. Every bite will surely whet your appetite for the main course.
5. Kuya J Crispy Pata
Kuya J also offers the famous Crispy Pata or the โputok batokโ as some people may call it. Donโt worry, though, your taste buds will surely thank you once you take a bite of Kuya Jโs Crispy Pata. It’s all worth it.
4. Kuya J Kare-Kare
Here is another classic Filipino comfort food, the Kare-Kare. Made with original Kuya J peanut sauce, Kuya Jโs Kare-Kare is a great way to put a smile on your face.
3. Sizzling Sisig with Egg
Whether itโs during a family lunch or a drinking session with your closest friends, sizzling sisig on a plate will always be a welcoming sight.
2. Lechon Belly
During special occasions, a lechon will most likely be seen on a Filipino familyโs table. The crispy skin and the juicy meat of Kuya J’s Lechon Belly will remind you of countless Noche Buenas.
Disclaimer: Lechon belly is available only in selected Kuya J branches
1. Kuya J Halo-halo Espesyal
Even after consuming a lot of the main course, there should always, ALWAYS be room for dessert. And in Kuya J, there is no sweeter and better way to end your meal than with their famous halo-halo. Giving a twist to the iconic dessert, Kuya Jโs Halo-halo is called โEspesyalโ for a reason: it is made from a different kind of ice. It’s creamier and a whole lot yummier. YUM.
