10 All-Time Favorite Karaoke Hits Pinoys Love To Sing
10. Pare Ko – Eraserheads
Everyone’s favorite Pinoy rock band introduced the quintessential bitter “friendzone” song, Pare Ko, which is the anthem of our dear brothers relegated to the friendzone, or as they like to call it, the “pa-asa” spectrum of things. The karaoke version is notoriously sanitized compared to the original, but really, there’s no one stopping you from yelling the expletive in the chorus, especially when you’re singing with much-justifiedย hugotย and angst.
9. Through The Fire – Chaka Khan
Whenever you’re out with your friends and it’s karaoke night, there will always, and I mean ALWAYS, be that one ambitious friend pressing the keys to Through The Fire. Another song known for its impossibly high notes, it’s the perfect karaoke staple to blow anyone away with your talent, and establish your supremacy in the karaoke game. But if yourย birit skills leave a lot to be desired, perhaps it’s best to stay away from this song, at least in public. Refer to number 11.
8. Pusong Bato
There is much dispute over who really sang this song, not that it actually matters. Whether you’re listening to the Aimee Torres version, or to Jovit Baldivino’s, this ditty has taken the country by storm, and has had every Pinoy singing this with much feelings. This song isย Pare Ko’sย dorkier cousin, whose heart has been crushed into smithereens by some n0-good heartbreaker, and is pretty much left with no other choice than to sing about how he can’t eat or sleep because of this jerk whose heart is apparently made of stone. You sing it away, you poor you.
7. Bohemian Rhapsody – Queen
This song is another one of those ambitious numbers, but is all the more fun to perform because let’s face it, Freddie Mercury is the king of camp. No one can get much campier, passionate, and energetic like he can. Bohemian Rhapsody is such an iconic song, and every time it’s being played on karaoke is basically a gift that keeps on giving. Take turns with friends, or sing it on your own– just remember not to hold back.
6. Dancing Queen – ABBA
The ultimate disco song, the truest of Pinoy karaoke fans love to dance and jive while singing along to this ABBA classic. Your mom danced to this song, your titas danced to this song, and much as you’d hate to admit it, it’s got your foot tapping to the beat too. Ain’t no party like a Dancing Queen party, indeed!
