When was the last time you did something for the first time? This summer, complete your #SummerGoals with plenty of water activities you can experience here in our very own country. There are lots to try this season aside from just getting a tan in our bikinis and we already prepared a list so you won’t have to! We also included where you can experience each item on the list, all you have to do is schedule your trip. Aren’t we just lucky to be living in a tropical archipelago? Time to step out of the box and conquer your fears!
10. Parasailing

Step out of the shore and conquer your fear of heights! This lets you see a wider view and a different perspective of your location. Meanwhile, if you’re that person like me who have always wanted to fly, this activity will give you that satisfaction. Enjoy literally being away from stress and people!
WHERE TO PARASAIL:
- Boracay Island
- Mactan, Cebu
- Subic Bay, Zambales
- Taal Lake, Batangas
- Coron, Palawan
- Puerto Galera, Mindoro
9. Inflatable Island
This inflatable island consists of slides, towers, bridges, human launchers, swings, 8 basketball courts andย so much more (find out when you get there) which will unleash the kid in you. A floating zoo, the Pink Bali Lounge and newly opened unicorn island are also accessible to everyone with any of their play passes.
WHERE: Subic Bay, Zambales
8. Wakeboarding
I personally enjoy doing this a few hours before sunset because, for me, it feels calming. This watersport is quite difficult to learn at first but very fulfilling and addicting once you get the hang of it. It requires balance and leg power as the pull could completely wipe you out.
WHERE TO WAKEBOARD:
- Batangas
- Nuvali, Laguna
- Clark, Pampanga
- Lubao, Pampanga
- Camarines Sur
- Davao City
7. Surfing
While wakeboarding and surfing may seem similar at first sight, it’s actually quite different. Like, which foot to put greater weight on and that you’re not attached to anything but your board. My favorite part is catching waves while listening to the sound of it… aah, music to my ears!
WHERE TO SURF:
- Baler, Aurora
- La Union
- Siargao
- Davao City
6. Cliff Jumping
This activity is liberating in the sense that you let go and let gravity take complete control of you. It gives you the satisfaction of being carefree once in a while by, something you can never do in your daily life at work.
WHERE TO JUMP:
- Boracay Island
- Luisiana, Laguna
- Real, Quezon
- Nasugbu, Batangas
- San Gabriel, La Union
5. Scuba Diving

Discover the underwater world and have a look at life from a different perspective! It’s a whole new world down there and I can swear that it’s worth to see before your very eyes and not just on videos or oceanariums. Also, remember not to disturb marine life as you’re only there as a visitor.
WHERE TO SCUBA DIVE
- Anilao, Batangas
- Puerto Galera, Mindoro
- Verde Island
- Manta Bowl, Masbate
- Monad Shoal, Cebu
- Moalboal, Cebu
- Mactan, Cebu
- Tubbataha Reef
- Apo Island
- Coron, Palawan
- Panglao Island, Bohol
- Enchanted River, Surigao del Sur
4. Helmet Diving
In helmet diving, it’s easier to breathe underwater as compared to scuba diving, especially for first-timers or non-divers. The diving helmet supplies breathing gas which makes it ideal for them while being able to walk on the ocean floor and feed a school of fish!
WHERE TO HELMET DIVE:
- Boracay Island
- Hundred Islands, Pangasinan
3. Whitewater River Rafting
Adrenaline junkies love this activity. It uses an inflatable raft to navigate on whitewater… which is why I also won’t recommend this watersport to non-swimmers. Might as well include swimming lessons on your bucketlist. Safety first!
WHERE TO GO RAFTING:
- Cagayan De Oro
- Calbiga, Samar
- Davao City
- Magdalena, Laguna
- Tabuk, Kalinga
2. Mermaid Swimming
Every little girl’s dream is to become a mermaid and now we all have the opportunity to be one. What a time to be alive, indeed! Besides fulfilling the childhood dream, it is also one way to keep fit for ladies who don’t see themselves inside the gym.
WHERE TO ENROLL:
- Boracay Island
- Cebu City
- Makati City
- Fort, Taguig
- Quezon City
- Sta. Rosa, Laguna
1. Windsurfing
A combination of surfing and sailing, this watersport lets you navigate through the water with the help of the wind. This is why it is only done in potentially hostile environments to make sure that you can arrive safely back to the shore.
WHERE TO KITESURF:
- Boracay Island
- Siargao
- Bantayan Island
- Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro
- Cuyo Island
As they always say, happiness lies on the other side of fear. Traveling for me is more than just sight-seeing and food-tasting, it is also experiencing things you can only do when you’re there. Having done some of these activities made me appreciate our country even more and become conscious of the little things we do that may harm the environment. Nature, indeed, is our friend.
