When In Manila and looking for a place to eat Chinese food with the quality of a fine dining restaurant and the speed of of a fastfood chain, head on over to Zong. I found myself at their Alabang, Westgate branch last Saturday for dinner and certainly they did not disappoint.
ย
The spacious place with their simple interior gives a very sleek and comfy vibe.

We started ordering when we found out that even though Zong offered Chinese food, they did not use MSG. We wondered if we would taste the difference.

It took a quick 10-15 minutes for the friendly staff to serve our food. We ordered Salted Fish Fried Rice (PHP 288), which was good for 2-3 people.

ย
ย
Next up were the โZong Classicsโ: Pork Ribs Salt and Pepper (PHP 360)
ย
ย
ย
ย
..and the Crispy Tausi Chicken (PHP 298). The chicken had just the right flavor and crispness!
ย
ย
ย
ย
From the โFavoritesโ section, we picked out Spinach with Two Eggs (PHP 318) which certainly looked interesting. We were served with spinach topped with a sauce that had boiled egg and century egg in it, thus the name.

The last dish was certainly my favorite. Their Singaporean Style Fish Fillet (PHP 438) is something I would definitely go back for. It consists of Dory smothered in orange sauce. I never thought I would fall this hard for a fish dish!

All in all that meal was great! We couldnโt even tell there was no MSG used, taste did not suffer at all.
So When In Manila and looking for good quality Chinese food, thatโs fast and tasty, Zongย would be the perfect place to be.ย There are also branches in Quezon City, Laguna, and Bonifacio Global City.

You should have eaten at Zong sooner…I’ve found the quality has slid a little in the recent years towards “laman tiyan”.
