November 17, 2012 – a momentous day in Tagaytay as Taal Vista Hotel celebrated its 73rd anniversary and the start of the festive yuletide season with a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Mr. Walid Wafik, Taal Vista Hotel’s newly-appointed General Manager, welcomed guests with free-flowing cocktails and hors d’oeuvre at the scenic balcony while the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra’s String Quintet played a selection of classical songs that has certainly set the mood for the evening.

To celebrate Taal Vista Hotel’s 73 years in the business, a “History Mural” was unveiled by Mrs. Felicidad Sy, Member of the Board of Trustees of SM Foundation; Ms. Elizabeth Sy, President of SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation; Ms. Louella Jurilla, Department of Tourism Regional Director for Region IV; and Taal Vista Hotel General Manager Mr. Walid Wafik. It consists of a glimpse of past events – the heritage of Tagaytay City and Taal Vista Hotel through anecdotes and historic photographs.
