Last week, I had devised a faux-cation for myself. I decided to take a mini break and where better to have it than Manila’s premiere 5 star resort hotel.

Sofitel’s check in is at 2:00 p.m. but because of work, I arrived at around 5 in the afternoon. My mother and I were met with a warm reception at the lobby and a very pleasant surprise. We were told that we were the hotel’s “Guest of the Day” and that our rooms were upgraded to the 10th floor, their exclusive Club Millesime. We were then ushered to our room:

A clean, beautiful bathroom is always telling of how an establishment is ran.
In this this bathroom, my favorite feature is the rain shower visible below from the room. (And that’s my mom!)
These Club rooms are equipped with a 32 inch LCD TV with cable, a work desk, a refrigerator with a mini bar, and even internet services. Let’s not forget the beautiful fresh flowers in the room! The management’s attention to detail was exquisite.
The best part of the room, however, isn’t what was in the room, but rather what was waiting outside: a breathtaking view of the bay and the pool area below.
