In the past, we have seen people undergo surgeries to look like real-life Ken or Justin Bieber, or to transform from being blonde and blue-eyed to looking Asian.
Now, we check out this Pinoy guy that has massive love for Superman he underwent 23 surgeries, costing him more than PhP 300,000, to look like his idol.
According to a post from Asiantown.net, Herbert Chavez, a native of Calamba City, Laguna, got nose jobs, jaw realignment, skin whitening, liposuction, and fillers to look like Superman. His transformation was spread out over 18 years of surgeries.
He even wears blue contact lenses to cover up his brown eyes.
However, doctors (Dr Terry Dubrow and Dr Paul Nassif ) refused to give Chavez the “abs of steel” when they discovered that he has been injecting himself with illegal fillers called MesoLipo. Apparently, he has been injecting his chest and abs with this. The said filler is illegal in the US.
Due to this, Chavez had spots and bumps all over his body. His doctors warned him the greater risk for surgery after knowing that he has been using this illegal filler.
Dr. Dubrow then said that if he wants to get abs, “This Superman needs to get into the gym.”
“Abs of steel should be gained by exercising and eating right.”
Unfortunately, this Superman loves chocolate. Additionally, he was disappointed that his doctors will no longer carry out the procedure. But he said that he has no regrets about it.
Chavez has been in the Guinness Book of World Records for three years now for owning the largest Superman collection in the world. When he first entered the record book in 2012, he had over 1,253 Superman collectibles including posters, rings, and life-size dolls. He claims that he now has over 5,000 items and is pushing for 10,000 in the future.
