DOTA BANNED: Barangay in Cavite Bans DOTA
Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) is a multiplayer role-playing game (RPG) that involves pitting two team against each other with use of heroes and equipment to win battles. It is very popular to Pinoys, and even the youngsters enjoy playing this game. Thus, it is quite common to see many kids play this game in computer shops.
Recently, an image of what appears to be an ordinance allegedly banning the game of DOTA in computer shops in Barangay Salawag in Cavite surfaced online.
The photo of the said ordinance can be seen below.
This is the best resolution of the copy of the said ordinance that we can find. It might be a challenge but it’s still quite readable.
We also found this statelemt, supposedly from one of the Baranggay officials:
Sa aking mga kababayan, ginawa po natin itong barangay resolution dahil naniniwala kami na ito ang tama para sa mga kabataan na madalas masangkot sa mga kaguluhan, pagmumura, cutting classes, pustahan, pagpupuyat, pagaaway, at pagpapabaya ng pagaaral. Mahal namin ang ating mga kabataan at hindi kami papayag na masira ang kanilang kinabukasan. Maraming salamat sa inyong pagsuporta at pangunawa.

Rough Translation:
Dear countrymen, we will be pushing on with this town resolution because we believe this is the right thing to do for the children who are often seen causing trouble, cussing, cutting classes, gambling, staying up late, fighting, and ignoring their studies. We love the children and we will not allow their future to be ruined. Thank you for your support and understanding.ย
After searching on the Internet, we have yet to find a source that confirms the said ordinance. So, we are not sure if this is legit or it’s just a photoshopped document to prank people.
Anyone knows if this ordinance is legit?
If so, what do you think of it?
