When in Manila, have you heard about this new skewer game? No, I’m not pertaining to a new, free downloadable Android App. What I am talking about is a real skewer game.
Okay. Let me give you a clearer picture.
I recently visited this new restaurant calledย Bar B Skewย which is located at the heart of Tomas Morato, Quezon City. A great nearby landmark is the Boy Scout Circle where you can see the monument of Tomas Morato situated on top of an obelisk-like structure at the center.
So, what to expect in this newly discovered isaw hang-out? You’re not just going to sit down and eat some skewers here but you’ll also be doing the multi-tasking job of savoring them with delectable sauces and roasting them on the rotating charcoal grill as you wait for them to brown; which I think is the most fun part. Aside from that, it’s the first do-it-yourself skewer resto here in the country, so it is definitely a must-try!
I also had the chance to sit down and talk to the store’s PR manager, Charmaine Rin who was very bubbly and accommodating. She believes that Filipinos have this huge, deep-rooted love for skewers. Well, it’s true. High school and college students are really die-hard fans of them. As a matter of fact, they do not just exist around the streets of Manila. Other Asian countries are big consumers of them, as well, including China, Cambodia, Thailand and Taiwan.
Bar B Skew is like a melting pot of most of the known skewers around the country. You can see a certain glow of surprise from the costumerโs eyes everytime they see all the available skewers meticulously organized inside this sanitary glass fridge.
Interestingly, this is the very first branch of Bar B Skew. It opened in mid-October 2013. Since day one, they have become a subject of curiosity to new customers, skewer lovers and even to some celebrities who just have heard about them, though.
You’ll realize why most of the people love them after we take a closer look:
Skewers are not the only thing you can enjoy here, either. There are also several Pinoy all-time favorite dishes that will burst exciting flavors in your mouth. Their sisig is so irresistible, for example, that you might want to order some beer or one more cup of rice with it!
I know youโll be asking how much you will need to spend to enjoy all these ihaw-ihaw goodness. Well, Bar B Skew has created good menu options for you. There are budget meals that students can afford, for instance. If you want to treat your barkada, you can try some of their available skewer packages. If you really want to have an awesome, unforgettable experience here, on the other hand, you might want to consider their cool menu options below.
Isnโt it a good time for you to come and visit their place? A great opportunity indeed!
The restaurant usually opens at 11 in the morning and stays open until 2AM on Mondays through Thursdays. During Fridays through Sundays, they usually close around 4AM to accommodate customers who want to extend their hours during the weekend.
No plans where to hangout tonight or maybe this weekend When in Manila? Then why not visit Bar B Skew and enjoy the new trend of skewersโ oh-so-yummy goodness?ย
